Serbia in European Union,what is your benefit and what is the benefit of Pozega,Lucani and Arilje... Print E-mail

CA Sretenje started implementation of the project "Serbia in the European Union, what is your benefit and what is the benefit of Pozega, Lucani and Arilje..." along with 43 organizations from Serbia. It will consist of 6 panel discussions in three already mentioned municipalities and promotional activities on a local level. All project activities will be covered by side of TV Pozega and CA Sretenje already have signed the Agreement on Cooperation with it.

The project goal is maintenance of the European integration topic high on a local and political agenda, or prevention that approaching Serbia to the European Union become taboo on a local, regional and ,to a certain extent, national level, by means of opening discussions on real and concrete topics as well as benefits that citizens and local communities can have if Serbia approaches to the European Union.

The first panel discussion will be held in Lucane on March, 27 2008 in the facilities of the Municipality Council Lucani and the topic is: How to reducepoverty.

 
Publication Strategic Litigation in Local Communities Print E-mail

In December CA Sretenje finished implementation of the project Strategic Litigation in Local Communities which was supported by the Canadian International Development Agency and the Fund for an Open Society. The last activity of the project was creation of a publication which is now available on our site and you can download it in the section called library. The publication contains, among the rest, analysis of the cases which were strategically represented on a regional level, undertaken steps and achieved results. The publication can be useful to all who are or plan to strategically litigate and advocacy.

 
Regional meeting of Teams for strategic litigation Print E-mail

On October 29, 2007, in rooms of Pozega Municipality, CA Sretenje held regional meeting of representatives of local communities from Novi Sad, Leskovac, Kraljevo and Pozega and local partners on the project: Forum Iuris- Novi Sad, Center of Education Leskovac, Civic Council Municipality of Kraljevo with aim to examine possibilities and ways of regional networking.
Regional meeting is a final activity on the project Strategic Litigation in Local Communities which is supported by Canadian Government, via Canadian International Development Agency- CIDA and Open Society Fund.
Rodoljub Sabic, Commissioner for Information of Public Importance, spoke about the significance of the Law on Free Access to information for solving of defined issues, Zdenka Kovacevic, Project Coordinator, summarized attained results and defined cases, Mirej Grcki spoke about the local community status and recommendation for further functioning, Srdjan Cosic about returning of Bogavac legacy to youngsters in Kraljevo municipality, and Zeljko Plavsic about great and unselective forest cutting on mountain Kukavica in Leskovac Municipality. Miladin Filipovic, Municipal public solicitor, referred to the Law on Local Government and said that he was not authorized for litigation of local communities but that he would accept to be engaged in the case of environmental protection of rivers Crna and Bela Kamenica.
Also spoke: Mirjana Nikolic-a member of the Legal Team- about steps in strategic litigation in case of environmental protection of rivers Crna and Bela Kamenica, Biljana Milovanovic- about local community status in Pozega, Ljubica Bogosavljevic-President of Municipal Assembly in Arilje municipality- about local community status in Arilje. Representatives of local communities also took part in discussion: Stevan Latinović- MZ Bosko Buha , Novi Sad, Vesna Vulin Macic- MZ Jelen Do, Pozega, Predislav Matović- MZ Tometino Polje, Pozega, Marjan Banjanac- MZ Bogutovac, Kraljevo.
At the end of the meeting it was formed Team for strategic litigation on regional level and signed Agreement between all participants in the project- 16 local communities and 5 non governmental organizations.
