On October 24, 2007 Environmental Organization “Kamena prasina“from Jelen Do in front of the room of the Municipal Assembly distributed request of citizens of Jelen Do and other places endangered by NEXT group AD Jelen Do from Jelen Do to aldermen of Pozega Municipality with a view to the request became a part of the agenda of the 26th session. In the request of Environmental Organization “Kamena prasina“ problems of citizens were exposed and it was demanded from aldermen to search for immediate inspection of relevant inspection services- mining and environmental inspector- and to take all legal measure for the purpose of protection of environment, people and their property. President of the Assembly, Tihomir Marjanovic, asked activists of the organization to leave the rooms of Pozega Municipality. It was happened an incident when a member of municipal guard extricated the paper from hand of one alderman.
By favor of one alderman the paper after all got at aldermen hands but president of Assembly refused to adopt proposal that the request became a part of the agenda of the 26th session.

On October 18, 2007 Forum iuris organized the lecture on theme: the Right to immediate citizen participation in frame of the project Strategic Litigation in Local Communities supported by Canadian International Development Agency-CIDA and coordinated by CA Sretenje from Pozega.
Members of Team for strategic litigation formed on level of Novi Sad and representatives of Municipal government for general issues were present on the lecture. It was discussed need of improving the status of local communities, extension of their purviews and financial resources provided by municipal budget and the ways that could be done. Therefore, it was considered proposal of amendments on Decree on local communities and Cooperation Agreement between local communities and Town Novi Sad.

 
Legal Initiative- Western Serbia

On October 18th, 2007 in rooms of Pozega Municipality it was held training of volunteers who would be engaged in collection of signatures for civic initiatives for passing of the Law on privacy of information and amendments on the Law on Free Access to Information. CA Sretenje will coordinate action of collection of signatures in Western Serbia, in municipalities: Cacak, Uzice, Pozega, Arilje, Loznica, Valjevo and Prijepolje, in frame of the project which has been implemented by People’s Parliament Leskovac supported by Institute for Sustainable Development and Open Society Fund.
Participants were volunteers and local coordinator for Western Serbia and training was held by Ivan Grujic- People’s Parliament Leskovac and Aleksandar Gavrilovic-Let’s, Belgrade.

 
Public Discussion about Development Program

In rooms of Pozega Municipality on October 5, 2007 was held public discussion about draft of Development Program in which design representatives of CA Sretenje took part. Participants of the public discussion were, besides citizens, representatives of NVO, local authorities, councilor groups as well as Coordination team.

In Pozega, on October 4, 2007 CA Sretenje organized the lecture on theme: the Right to immediate citizen participation in realization of local autonomy. Representatives of state authorities, local government and members of Team for strategic litigation in Pozega were present . The lecture goal was presentation of the project outcomes and motivation of the community to take part in solving of issues on the local level.
The lecture is a part of the project Strategic Litigation in Local Communities supported by Canadian International Development Agency-CIDA. Although the regional and local environmental inspector, chairman of Pozega Municipality and his deputy, Manager of Municipal Administration and presidents of councilor groups had been invited beforehand, president of Democratic Party councilor group, Branko Nikolic, and the local environmental inspector, Nenad Matijevic, were the only ones that came. The others informed project coordinator, Zdenka Kovacevic, about reasons of their absence.
